About Me

Enjoying amazing Brazil.

I'm an open-minded person, who loves to travel and learn about other cultures and languages. I felt in love with South America in 2008/2009, when I lived and worked as a volunteer for one year in a public school in Ayacucho/Peru. So it was just a question of time, when "saudades" would become too strong.. and voila, two years after my first stay I am here again, this time in Rio..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven't really participated - thought I'm a member since 2008 - in the CS-Community until I was coming to Rio. I had such a great experience by being hosted by a carioca-girl, that I was wondering, why I had waited so long. So, now, it's time to change and make new great experiences and friendships!

Was hosted in Brasil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Salvador and Belém), Peru (Arequipa and Lima) and Italy (Trieste), attended various meetings in SP and Rio, met a lot of great people and found some amazing friends and finally I also did host people at my home(s). :)

There is so much I'm interested in: Books, music, dancing Forró, cooking (even better, when I can do it for sb ^^), work out (like Krav Maga and Rugby (at least a half year before I was going to Brazil.. still don't understand all rules, but it's about running and getting dirty, so I love it!), not at least my studies.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Casablanca, Gone with the wind, Dr. Shiwago (okay, yes, I like this Oldschool-Romantic-stuff), Friendship!, The life of the Others (both great german movies)..

Books (way to much): Buddenbrooks (Mann; Thomas Mann in general); Mephisto (Klaus Mann); Faust, Die Leiden des jungen Werthers (Goethe); Lolita (Narbokov); There and back again (Tolkien); El amor en los tiempos del cólera (García Márquez); La sombra del viento (Ruiz Zafón)..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sunrise over Machu Picchu.

Teach, Learn, Share

Like everybody else here I'm interested in learnig about other cultures, especially food. ;D
