About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To survive my trip through Germany and come back home and open up a coffee shop.

ABOUT ME

As advised I read a few profiles to see what I should be putting in here and I think this is going to knock off quite a bit points for me, but I still don’t want to lie, so here it is.

I am terribly shy and introverted however that does not mean that I cannot have a conversation because once I get to know people I’m not that bad at conversations just don’t expect me to be the one who starts them.

I’m not into wild parties with lots of people and noise, etc., in fact I kind of choke a bit with big crowds which I believe is part of my shyness. Instead I prefer fewer people and places where you can actually talk and hear what others are saying.

I also love to hear stories so I prefer to listen rather than to talk.

Current Mission:

I have been struggling trying to figure out what to write here but suddenly I realized that is actually quite simple. I don’t know if it is my mission in life, or even my current mission in general, but my mission with the trip I’m planning and the reason I ended up in here, is that I want to start living; as simple and as complicated as that.

The thing is that, for whatever reason, the fact is that I have skipped many of the things and life experiences I should have had and so this whole going away and forget about the world, tradition, responsibility and blah, blah, blah, I really don’t want to miss. And so, whatever happens I really do believe that only good things will come from this.

Another current more substantial and short term mission would be going to the Kent concert on July 13, 2012 in Göterborg XD. someone else in here going? I’m traveling to the other side of the world for it so who wants to come with me? you could make fun of me because I’ll be singing along to a bunch of words that don’t even exist (because I can’t speak Swedish, ha ha ha) or if you’re kind of nice people perhaps you could explain to me what the hell it is that Jocke will be saying :D (that is if he says something during the concert).

PHILOSOPHY

I don’t think I have a personal philosophy as of now, I know is kind of crazy (and a bit sad if you ask me) but so far I have lived my life without any concrete goal or direction. In fact, part of what I find appealing about the whole traveling thing and CouchSurfing is that I think that it can help me in finding out somehow what is it that I’m supposed to do with my life; not because I naively believe that during the trip I will have a startling revelation that will change my whole life in the blink of an eye but because for the first time in my life I’m doing exactly what I want to do without stopping to think about the consequences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I’m new in this so I have not participated in anything so far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No CouchSurfing Experience just yet but hopefully that will change next year.

Interests

Music is my life and as so I am interested in anything related to music, including but not limited to concerts. In fact some of my very few travels so far have taken place because I wanted to go to a concert somewhere.

I also like movies and I particularly enjoy foreign movies because I think is a way of knowing how other people think and how other places look like, etc.

And last but not least when it comes to places I prefer by far mountains and forest rather than a beach (although I have never actually been to the beach before, ups).

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Edward Scissorhands is the one who has been my favorite movie the longest, I was like 5 when I first saw it and it became my favorite movie right away. Now I am 25 and I’m still loving it as much as I did when I was five years old and used to see it every day.

Festen (the Celebration) which is one of the dogma movement films. I would love to have access to more dogmas because I have the feeling that is the movement in general the one I like.

Other movies I love are: Pan’s Labyrinth, Little Princess, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich, Far Away, So Close (for some reason I like it better than On Wings of Desire), El Lado Oscuro del Corazon (Dark Side of the Heart), Krzysztof Kieslowski Dekalog and Three Colors, MirrorMask, the Royal Tennenbaums, Darren Aronofski Pi.

Music:
I have 6 favorite bands that each for a different reason occupy the top of my list and that I will name in alphabetical order as not to put different weight to any of them: Beirut, Cold, Efterklang, Kent, Lacuna Coil, Stabbing Westward.

Books:
More than favorite books I would like to name my favorite authors which are Hermann Hesse and Franz Kafka.
From Hesse I particularly like the tales over the novels and my favorites are Augustus, Tales from Another Star, The Poet and Faldum.
From Kafka Metamorphosis and The Crow and The Hunter of Gratchus (although I’m not sure those are the correct name since I read them in Spanish, ups) which is a small tale that came in my Chinese Wall book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Since I couldn’t think of anything to say in here I would say that the most amazing things I’ve ever done/seen/hear, according to myself, is going to all the concerts that I’ve gone to, I have no regrets there just amazing experiences that I will remember all my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to possibilities when it comes to learning. I have no idea what could I teach though.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Sweden, United States
