ABOUT ME

Ingo moved to New Zealand in search of a career in web development and a change of scenery. After two years he met me (Verity) :) We lived happily together in Wellington for three years enjoying the people, the city, and the coffee then decided it was time for me to put my German boots on and get some travel experience under my belt, so we purchased tickets, sorted out a visa and hauled our lives over to Germany! Now after two and a half years living in Cologne with all it's super friendly inhabitants and awesome Cathedral, we have heard the call to return to Wellington and put down some roots there...

We are both very open-minded self-confessed geeks ;) NOT the unsocial, dark room with batman bed sheets kind!

After finding his dream job in New Zealand Ingo (who is 31) continues to work there -from here- with sometimes strange hours :) He loves reading good, well researched articles, sitting outside in the sun (with laptop + beer), running, swimming and biking, a good beer (the name *beer snob* has been coined a few times) and cooking for friends!

I (Verity, 27 years to my name) love to make lists and organize myself (over and over again) which I do more of then actually doing what I should be at home ;) I love puppies (to own a dog is pretty much my life's dream), dancing properly and like a crazy person, reading books that I literally can't put down, eating (but not cooking…) and doing fun things with fun people!

PHILOSOPHY

After both being avid life planners at one stage in our separate lives, and learning that it doesn't always work out the way you planned! We are now taking life as it comes, in small chunks with surprises every now and then

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately due to busy and split schedules we've been unable to host couch surfers in our home, but we totally love the ideals and community that CS has and are looking forward to participating more thoroughly when we're back on normal working hours ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've met other couch surfers through friends in Wellington, and had our fair share of hosting-guests and being-guests on our travels, but are couchsurfing.org virgins :)

Interests

Sharing code and developing communities around it (Ingo is an open source developer). Creative DIY furniture (just starting out!). Photographing the little things. Trying our hardest to live environmentally friendly. Travelling and exploring places by purposefully getting lost. Turning up the music and dancing like there's no tomorrow. Nibbling on good chocolate. Design, art and architecture. Ingo loves to research and I love to start many different projects. Going to movies/pubs/bars/parks (and so on) for a coffee/beer/anything! with awesome people!

Music, Movies, and Books

We are both lovers of culture and creativity, and will read/see/listen to everything and anything - we won't like everything but will give it a go! Festivals are great! Film festivals, music festivals, libraries and book stores we can spend lots of time at all!

Mini run-down:
Music: NZ music (which is nearly always awesome), indie and alternative music, rock, folk and so on. Some of the artists we are listening to at the moment are: The Naked and Famous, Woolshed Sessions, Ocean Colour Scene, Chemical Brothers, Muse, Radiohead... I also love a lot of top 40 stuff which Ingo hates ;)
Movies: We both love indie films and the good blockbuster movies - you know, the *good* ones ;)
TV: I love Glee (don't care what people think!) Ingo does as well but pretends not to ;) Together we watch Big Bang Theory, Lost, Game of Thrones, Scrubs, House, Dexter, Futurama, the IT crowd...
Books: Any and all

Teach, Learn, Share

As a true believer in open source technology, Ingo's always eager to share SMS and other code-ing stuffs with other people. Verity is always happy to have a jam session on her Ukelele (that she can't really play) or offer tips on crocheting!
Ingo's also keen on improving his French skills and Verity is happy to trade English tips for German ones!
