My name is Veronika (short name is Vika).

Who I am?

I'm a writer under my backpack.

I am the author of many stories and texts in Russian. Unfortunately, I started speaking English late and cannot yet translate my travel stories from Russian. But I will definitely do it so that my friends from all over the world can read them!

I am a mountain guide and alpine equipment consultant.

My parents started taking me on hikes early. I visited all the mountain ranges of Russia as a child, and when I grew up I began to climb in other countries. I have been on the volcanoes of Indonesia, tracks in the Himalayas, Olympus in Greece, the Pamir Highway in Tajikistan, on the highest peak in Europe, Elbrus, and Everest Base Camp. Now, I dream to walk the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mexican border to the Canadian one.

I am a person of the world, though I was born and grew up in the closed country of the USSR.

Traveling showed me how wonderful it is that there are so many different people, languages, cultures, and religions on this planet. I truly believe that traveling is a significant part of the spiritual development of any given society. That is why the whole world is my true value, the intrinsic one.
