CURRENT MISSION To grow the most over the miles ABOUT ME I'm a student, always and forever. A native Vermonter, I yearn for the outdoors and strive for the opportunity to travel. I work in the field teaching ecology, and spend my free time hiking new spots, seeing new things, and eating good foods. My nerdy side loves to be indulged with good conversation, loud music and creative art. PHILOSOPHY To the artist there is never anything ugly in nature.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have hosted couch surfers with my old roommate in Vermont before, and enjoyed the opportunity to meet and explore with new people in all locations. My success hosting people in Montana has brought me many fond memories too, and I look forward to more!
Music, Movies, and Books
For movies, I can list a few favorites: Princess Mononoke, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, The Trotsky and Wristcutters: A Love Story. For music, my tastes vary widely, but I can say that as of recent my favorites have been: Kings of Leon, Avett Brothers, Cake, Florence and the Machine, Neke Case, Infected Mushroom, Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes and Listener. I never turn down new music though, and my interests change often. For books, I can say I am an old Vonnegut fan for sure, and enjoy many of the classics along with writings from naturalists over the ages and anything related to zombies.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I went to Alaska to backpack in the summer of 2010, and took a bush flight from Fairbanks into the Brooks Range above the arctic circle to a nunamuit village called Anaktuvuk Pass. It was an amazing 2 and a half weeks up there, and the people I met were wonderful. The things I saw and stories I learned were great! I cherish the memories and want to return.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always interested in learning new things, particularly practical things. I can offer some knowledge on baking goodies like truffles and candies, as well as breads. I know art for those willing to draw with me, and can shoot a bow well enough to offer pointers to those wanting to learn archery.
My Interests
My interests range widely, from the conservation of the natural world and studies of wildlife, to science fiction movies and fantasy games. Nature, music and art are my main interests, and from there can be broken down into many different labels.
