About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see it all.

ABOUT ME

On Serious days - I am a Nurse with a specialisation in Gerontology, and I am currently pursuing my Masters in Clinical Nursing. I am also an unofficial/unqualified therapist to my friends or whoever needs a listening ear.

On Non-serious days - Quite talkative and mostly full of nonsense. Self-awarded PhD in Pun from the University Of Self-Proclaim. Always looking for new cafes to explore!
People say I'm funny, but really I'm just Victoria.

In my free time, I love to write❤️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

- On a mission to create a "strangers reunion".
- I love meeting people and getting to know their cultures

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to couchsurfing in 2014 by my friend and figured to give it a shot. I was 18 years old then, and it was my very first time solo traveling.
I was terrified, but now I'm addicted.

In 2016, I decided to drag my friend along, and backpack around Europe for apprx 2 months., and introduced her to CS. Turns out she really loved the experiences and the concept of CS. Really enjoyed ourselves and had the privilege of meeting plentiful of amazing people who really looked after us.

And not to be hypocritical, to save money on accommodation ;) I'm very sure that's everyone's reason as well.

I wrote a blogpost about it, it became viral overnight with over 30,000 views. - So basically you are meeting a celebrity haha

CURRENT
Still using couch surfing to host/attend meet ups and events locally and abroad.
Not hosting anymore unfortunately :(
I always make it a point to meet a local in any country I visit - I appreciate a more local and authentic experience when travelling, and that is what CS is all about

Interests

I prefer coffee dates over alcohol - But on carefree days, I'm always down to party.

Researching and exploring new cafes and eateries to try!

Always down for long walks, good company and exciting stories.

  • partying
  • languages
  • nature walks
  • trekking and camping

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

May not just 1...

Spent 2 months in Europe with a Budget of SGD 2300 ( EUR1800), inclusive of airfare. Wrote an article about it on my blog, in which received over 30,000 views. So in other words, you are talking to a celebrity :p

Jumped from a 2 m high fence.

Did a Full-time Advance Diploma, while doing a part-time Degree programme, while Working, looking after my parents and maintaining a long-distance relationship amidst the pandemic. Oh yeah, I graduated with honours in both programmes hehe

2023- Went to Mongolia alone with 0 expectations, no friends and limited knowledge. Met this guy randomly, and it turns out that we had 1 mutual friend (I met this friend 5 years before), who is Mongolian and happened to be there as well. Met our mutual friend, gained 10 new friends, went and stayed in the Nomadic regions of Mongolia, and left with tears and the best memories.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Singlish (Singaporean English) since it's my forte.

I have a whole collection of (very) funny jokes and stories to share with you.

I also have discounted tickets to attractions in Singapore if you need them! - eg Skypark Tickets at Marina Bay Sands.

I would love to learn about your culture and its language and superstitions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As your Host - On a typical outing with me, you can expect someone who is energised and funny. I will bring to some of my favourite cafes/restaurants to try. You will escape tourist traps and expensive food, and I will make sure you wont pay a single thing for sightseeing (Sightseeing shouldnt be expensive!!)

As Your Guest - I am still funny, yet respectful towards your sacred space. You can expect someone who is clean and tidy, and enjoys doing the dishes. I have many stories to share, and I love to try different food. I make a mean set of Kaya Toast with Eggs, as well as a Japchae (Korean Dish).

Countries I’ve Visited
