About Me

Always the hardest part to explain. Usually people ask "what you do" like it says a lot. I am a journalist, but I also worked in movie industry, in PR and in a network of hostels and hotels in Moscow, taught teenagers how to be real boyscouts in the camp and worked at an animal shelter. Actually, it doesn't matter to me what kind of job it is as long as it involves interacting with others and helping them. And I believe that whatever you do in your life, you can find a way to make the other person's day better

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because I believe that the world keeps spinning while people keep getting to know each other and are open to new cultures and new things instead of taking the idea about other nations from the media

Interests

I like to spend my time differently: I can go to a party but also a cozy evening with friends is nice. Walking around the city a lot, taking pictures of unobvious things or moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is pretty random: whatever you can dance to (all kind of dancing) or remember something to. To me music is always connected to something: words, memories, moments or situations you play out in your head

If I start the book list, nobody will pick me as everyone will think I'm a total nerd. I'm a journalist, of course, I read a lot. If you can advise a nice book, I will be happy to read it

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cannot pick only one
Living in the jungles for a week, going to Naples by Vespa from Crete, meeting the New Year's Eve with someone we didn't ask the name of and never saw after, going for a run in the mountains when everyone is asleep, changing the route straight at the airport while buying a new ticket and giving the old one back: life is full of moments that are special. Depends on how you see it

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you: a few phrases in my language (typical), a few pole-dance tricks if there is a safe lamppost outside and I'm sure that you will not fall down, cross-stitching (I'm serious!), understanding a character of a dog the first moment you see it, how to make perfect tea of a perfect temperature, how to cook borscht and yes I will be a stereotypical Russian: how to drink vodka right

I want to learn: something in your language, to know more about your culture and customs, about the city you leave in and maybe to do smth all of the locals of your city do, I want to learn what you are into and your story also

I want to share: these moments together. All in all, traveling is about people on your way: really different people of different cultures. This is the experience I'd like to share

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories if you are interested or something about my culture (though, probably, I'm not the most typical Russian you can find, I still find some things in our culture which I don't know or try to understand)
