Overview
About Me
I am Vivek, an erstwhile United Nations peacekeeper, now in New Delhi. my roots are in India but i wish to spread my wings into the furthest corners of the world. wherever i go i like to breathe in the culture of the place, get mesmerized by the people and their skills. human contact for me is the way to learn, share and inspire people around the world. i am comfortable with a hippy or a diplomat alike and match strides equally well with sophistication as also inconstancy.
when travelling, my requirements are fairly limited and i am not fastidious about anything barring hygiene.
i believe that music and dance are global languages and i do always carry my music with me which i share with my fellow travelers coz they always end up asking for it. i do basic salsa and shake a leg with anyone pretty comfortably on the floor.
i am a fitness enthusiast and enjoy a lot of swimming and snorkeling. i have been horse riding since i was a kid and pretty much like the equines. i love animals and they love me back.
i can teach u pranayam which is an integral part of yoga kriyas of India, as also basic yogasanas. i can even share recipes though generally u dont find ingredients for Indian dishes elsewhere in the world.
i like to read a lot and consequently i can talk about religion, geography, books and authors, etc. i can tell u almost everything about India and its culture because i have seen the entire country up close owing to my military exploits.
i am pretty much fun and easy going and adjust very easily to surroundings and culture.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i have started travelling recently and have a lot to share. travelling for me isnt seeing the tourist destinations but staying like a countryman, seeing what a local's life is all about, enjoying their cuisines and festivals, understanding their sufferings, and most of all learning through each other.
