About Me

UPDATE 2025

Hi, I’m Vivian!

It’s been a while since I last used this app (thanks to the pandemic and all that), but now I’m back and excited to connect with people who share the same curiosity and love for culture.

I was born in Indonesia but have lived in a few different countries for school and work, which is probably why I never get tired of learning, exploring, and meeting people from all over the world.

A little about me:

I studied Tourism Management (so yes, travel is basically my excuse and my profession) and I’m now working in the hospitality industry here in Bali.

Since July 2025, I’ve been based in Ubud as part of the “Guest Experience” team in a hotel industry — which is just a fancy way of saying I love making sure people have a great time.

I usually work 9–5 (sometimes longer — hospitality life!), five days a week. So I’m mostly free on weekends, or sometimes on weekdays after work.

Always happy to hang out, share stories, or just enjoy Bali together.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

👋🏼 For me, Couchsurfing is all about connecting with like-minded people and swapping stories, ideas, and perspectives from different corners of the world. I love the mix of cultures and experiences that make every conversation a little adventure on its own.

Just to be clear — I’m not here for dating, “free stays,” or anything that takes away from the spirit of this community.

I’m here to meet genuine travelers, share laughs, learn something new, and hopefully create memories that outlast the trip. Let’s keep Couchsurfing fun, safe, and inspiring — the way it’s meant to be!

Interests

🍫 Yes! I do get overly enthusiastic when it comes to chocolate, frozen yogurt, and anything that satisfies a sweet tooth. 🍫🍦

🍽️ I enjoy cafe-hopping to discover new desserts and hidden gems.

⛲️ Flea markets and thrifting are my little adventures—I can never resist charming vintage finds.

🎵 My playlist usually swings between Latin rhythms and R&B grooves. If you share the same taste, we’re already off to a good start.

🥘 Being Indonesian, I hold my love for local food close, but I’m equally fascinated by Asian, Spanish, Slovak, and Croatian cuisine. Let’s just say gastronomy is my guilty pleasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

✨ At 20, I set out on a solo trip across 15 countries in just one month—something quite rare in Indonesia, especially for a young woman traveling alone. It’s one of those memories I can’t help but feel a little proud of (with a grin 😆).

🎓 I was accepted into the University of Barcelona for an exchange program. While it might sound like “just another exchange,” in my class it was special—over 20 top students applied, but somehow I was the only one chosen. (Not claiming genius—just a mix of luck and good timing, haha!)

🌍 During the pandemic, I flew all the way from Indonesia to Peru for an internship. Navigating borders and restrictions alone made the experience even more unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m also fairly new to Bali, but always up for hanging out. If you’re a foodie (bonus points if you have a sweet tooth), we’ll probably get along just fine.

I vibe with all kinds of personalities — whether you’re the type to talk non-stop, sit in silence soaking up the sun, or dance all night at a party. I’m down for it.

Recently, I know how to ride a motorbike but not ace it. I don’t own one (yet), but I rent sometimes. So if you’re up for a little adventure outside of Ubud, I don’t mind hopping on and driving us there.
