About Me

My real name is Nathan but everyone pretty much refers to me as Waldo. I've been to 42 of 50 states. I've backpacked the country three times and lived on Maui in Hawaii for 9 months. I moved to Eugene a bit ago. I like a lot of coffee, I also am an avid fan of bluegrass and contemporary folk. I play guitar, sing, and I never lose at Jenga.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I often book gigs at coffee shops and venues. I like to travel and like a good couch now and again. I have always been on a quest for experiencing the cultures of the world and those within it.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Tallest Man on Earth
Shakey Graves
Possessed by Paul James
Damien Rice
Deer Tick
Pokey Lefarge

Pretty much any old-timey, folky, bluegrassy, singer-songwriter kind of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped off a sixty foot cliff into the water.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach anyone how to play guitar or piano. I also lived in a Student Cooperative with some people supporting anarchy ideals and/or the rights of people, such as race, gender, sexual preference, etc. If you're interested in learning about that or how to get involved then I can definitely chat. Also repair windows, plumbing, toiletry, doors and doorjams, build cabinets, and cat trees. I can tile floor and remove mold. I can't do everything but ask and I shall help or do it myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Music and a lot of stories.
Primarily absurd and often crazy, but also some genuine fantastic experiences I've had over the last few years.
Fix stuff.
A high five.
Decent cooking.
