To meet people, to see how the country is from the inside and to have the good addresses from the locals! Also to welcome strangers in my home, to share stories and various skills. To me, couchsurfing is a community : you sleep at someone's place and welcome someone else in your home. You give back to a stranger what a stranger gave you when you were abroad! I like this concept in a time when everyone is afraid of others.
