Overview
About Me
I love traveling, and learning about different cultures.
I signed up for Couchsurfing back in 2004 when it was a basic website intended to help everyone connect with each and help each other out to travel.
Now I logged in after 10 or 15+ years and it is very different animal. My legacy (old) profile with the old section names like "Current Mission" etc are still below, written back in 2006 or so. I am updating the different parts of the new CouchSurfing profile little by little.
I will leave it as is, as a reminder for the good old times. The legacy "Vouch" is now at the bottom and my old voices didn't translate into the new system of "Praises."
I live in the Washington DC suburbs (Northern Virginia), it has been my home for nearly 20 years, although I was born and raised in Pakistan. In recent years, I have traveled to Georgia, Egypt, Jordan, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Mexico, UAE. I have also been to China, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Singapore, Thailand and Saudi Arabia when I was younger.

Legacy Profile:
CURRENT MISSION
To balance the unequal distribution of wealth and resources, but that will take some time... In the meanwhile I'd like to travel the world, see new places and meet new, exciting people.
ABOUT ME
I have a goofy sense of humor. I'm always looking for something fun. And did I mention that I love travelling?
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that we should all stick to the values that we believe in. Don't give others what you don't want to receive :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By filling your couch...? :) I'm in a small apartment nowadays, can't offer my couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't met any couchsurfers yet, but I've been to a few places...
In the recent years: Georgia, Egypt, Jordan, Canada, England, Scotland, UAE, and many states in the US.
In my childhood I've been to China, Saudi Arabia, Denmark, Sweeden, Germany, Greece, Singapore and Thailand as well, but I don't remember most of these experiences :)
Interests
I like to keep an eye on the new technology. I love all kinds of tech gadgetry especially digital photography. I loved browsing the world in Encarta Atlas and now there's Google Earth. Don't know about it yet? Make a google search and find out yourself!! It's a must have for everyone interested in exploring especially travellers!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like suspense thrillers, movies like memento, mystic river, 12 monkeys, matrix (much talked-about) etc are my favorites. I'm not much into reading but the last book I read was Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. I want to see Le Louvre now :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Getting to the base camp of Nanga Parbat (summit: 8126m / 26660 ft.) was really tough, but seeing and capturing the beautiful sights were worth the effort :)
Nanga Parbat is the 9th highest peak of the world and the 2nd highest of Pakistan. Known as the killer mountain, it is one of the most dangerous mountains to climb and has probably the highest vertical slope.
