I like things that most people enjoy: travel, food, fun :) I also enjoy beer (as my profile picture can attest to). Although I enjoy a drink, I am not a wild, party person so hosts and guests should not expect super crazy nights out with me.

I don't particularly like writing an essay about myself so hopefully that is enough about me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Originally I was on Couchsurfing because I was interested in meeting new people from around the world and getting to know an area as a local would. Those are still both valid reasons to be on Couchsurfing, but after being active in this community for awhile, I have come to really value the experience and the unique form of intimacy that Couchsurfing offers. I think it can be so hard these days to really let your guard down and get to know people, but something about immediately building trust by letting a complete stranger stay in your home fosters an environment where it's easier to do so, and the fact that this feeling of intimacy is developed with a stranger rather than through years and years of getting to know someone is a unique and addicting experience.

Not to say that all or even most of my experiences have been like that, but I really cherish the ones that have been :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Took in a cat with cancer from the local shelter that only had a remaining life expectancy of 3 months to a year. I have had him since January 2015, and he is doing great!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach some Chinese martial arts (wushu) moves if you would be interested in learning :)

Learn: I would love to learn about you! If you happen to speak Chinese, German, or Spanish, I would love to practice with you if you're open to it

Share: I am always happy to share my home with guests, including my washer and dryer (which I know can be extremely valuable to guests who have been backpacking around the world!).
