CURRENT MISSION
Discover how huge the world is by taking a piece and seizing it.
ABOUT ME
I'm a 30-year-old graduate of International Business and Economics from Barcelona. I spent the last semester of my studies living in the US, in Pittsburgh, PA. There I learnt that adventure is always worth it, and unknown people can sometimes leave a mark on you.
While living there I managed to travel around the States, Canada and Puerto Rico. After a year back in BCN, I moved to the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, to work for the UK Government as a Tax Compliance Officer. I spent more than 3 years there but I decided to refocus my career towards something more meaningful to me, and I became a tour guide showing the awe-insipiring landscapes of Scotland. With the pandemic it all changed, and I am back working in the public sector, but without leaving the tour guide profession completely :)
I am very sociable and open-minded, I love learning languages and people from different cultures and discussing with people of different thoughts.
It’s hard to pinpoint the best trip of my life, as each and every of them has contributed something beautiful to my life. But I guess the most wholesome one was my first solo trip ever, to Japan, in 2019. I was so afraid of feeling lonely and yet through CS and goodwill clubs I had the most meaningful travelling experience of my lifetime!
PHILOSOPHY
I'd say "Trying not to panic and letting things flow". Through personal experience I've found out that freaking out for issues that are, in the grand scheme of things, small hurdles isn't worth it. Eventually they'll be sorted out, so you'd better look at them positively.
Finally, "one never has learned enough" is the other one. I keep learning from every doubt and question is posed around me, and I'm a monster who gobbles the internet seeking info when a curiosity passes through my mind.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've had a few beautiful experiences as a guest, and I feel it's time to give now that I can. I can only offer you a very comfortable sofa-bed in my living room, since all I could afford to buy in this expensive city was a 1-bedroom flat. However it's conveniently located, within 15-20 min of the Old Town on foot!
Even if the room isn't available, I'm more than glad to meet up with people who want a bit of a local experience in Edinburgh. I am eager to show you around in Edinburgh in my spare time, or even further out, as it's a great chance to socialise and practice my guiding skills!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met some Couchsurfers during my trip to China many years ago, and they told me about
their great experiences. This, along with some friends reviews, awoke my interest for this project, so that's why I signed up. I used it as a guest for the first time in 2014 to go to the UK and it was an indescribable experience! But the highlight has undoubtedly been my last backpacking trip to Japan. Out of the 3.5 weeks I spent there, about half of the days I spent them with Couchsurfing hosts, and it was such a beautiful experience.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Having a backpacker experience of 24 days with my best friend alone into China being just 18 !
Backpacking on my own in Japan for 3.5 weeks!
Driving back from Québec city through a very strong blizzard in the middle of the winter, with more than a meter of snow around and a nice temperature of -25ºC.
Kayaking in the middle of the dark, during new moon, on the bioluminiscent bay in Puerto Rico, seeing the sky full of stars and the water glowing in blue at each row of my paddle.
Venturing alone through Costa Rica’s “roads” with a cheap-ass 4WD and having to give way to iguanas and boa constrictors alike!
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I play a little piano, so if you're a real newbie I can give you some hints, but I'm not good at it either lol
Also I speak many languages which I would be eager to teach in fast mode! Or simply share travel experiences :)
