About Me

Finished my PhD at the University of Cambridge, studying supply chains and maths and cognition. Now running my own business incubator. Love meeting new people, learning from them, making connections, and talking nerdy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For hosting, to meet new people from around the world, learn from them, and share the love I have for the city of Cambridge.

For surfing, again to meet new people from around the world, exchange ideas and talents, and to get to see a place from the eyes of a local.

Interests

I love films, I've seen too many to count, I adore classical art and architecture but I'm learning to appreciate modern stuff more and more. I'm also technically an engineer and mathematician, and my field is "complexity science", where I try to understand literally everything all at once. It's difficult, but I get to combine things ranging from philosophy to mobile phone protocol to answer my questions, so I love it.

Lifelong martial artist, trained in different martial arts styles, but I mostly lift weights now.

Philosophy, politics, religion, spirituality, literature, art, all things I love but am pretty crap at, but we don't have to be good at what we love, do we?

Music, Movies, and Books

Massive movie fan, love too many to list. I will gladly watch anything together.
For books I prefer sci-fi, self help, or anything that shows you a world and gives you an idea to understand that works better. I would recommend, "Stranger in a Strange land", especially in this time where we need more human connection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

See the Wieliczka Salt mines. An underground salt palace, chapel and mine. Crystal salt statues, vast caverns, saline lakes. A fairytale.

Teach, Learn, Share

Lived in this city for the last five years, and love to show it to appreciative people. Christ's was my College and would to tell you more about it.

I love learning and hearing others' stories. There's nothing more powerful than a new perspective - even the smallest ideas become revelations to another. Speaking and experiencing a place with someone new, then, is one of the best things in the world, so let's do that!

Practically, I can't play an instrument to save my life, so please, teach me to make music. Alternatively, I can teach you how to dance or fight with someone, or if you have a recipe to exchange, my family Challah recipe. To host someone for Shabbat is a mitzvah, and I enjoy them regularly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The real Cambridge student experience. Meet students, see the colleges, dine within (if we're lucky). A real English village home, a comfortable room and board, and copious quantities of liquor.
