Yell's first host was when she was 18 in Missouri (eleven years ago) and it spread from there. Yell has hosted in several different homes around the world.

Hiking through the rainforest in Maui and swimming in the rain on a black-sand beach, marching in protests in San Francisco, and seeing zombies live on stage, working to live in a hostel, hiking all over this beautiful planet
