Overview
About Me
Hey there! I’m Yogesh Alekari, an overland motorcycle traveler from India, currently on an epic journey across Europe and Africa via the Silk Route. This adventure is more than just a ride—it’s a quest to explore the heart and soul of cultures, landscapes, and the incredible people who bring them to life.
In 2023, I completed a 136-day solo ride from Mumbai to London and back, crossing 27 countries—a journey that earned me two world records (recognized by the Harwards Book of World Records and the America Book of World Records). That ride only deepened my love for open roads, unexpected detours, and meaningful conversations with strangers who become friends.
Now, I’m riding deeper into the unknown, crossing continents from India to Europe via silk route and will continue towards Africa, soaking in stories from the ancient Silk Route and trading highways for hospitality wherever I can find it.
🏍 Why I Travel
For me, travel isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about experiencing the raw, authentic, and local way of life. I prefer chai in village homes over hotel lobbies and handwritten directions over GPS. My motorcycle is my most loyal travel partner, and every scratch on it tells a story.
My mission is to meet real people, learn from local cultures, and share my experiences to inspire others to step out of their comfort zones.

I’m not just looking for a place to crash—I’m here to share experiences, cook a meal together, swap travel stories, and maybe even take you on a short motorcycle ride if you’re up for it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two wheels, one world- one family ❤️ 37countries already done
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I’m always excited to share what I’ve learned from my travels and adventures! I can teach you about motorcycle touring—how to plan long-distance rides, maintain a bike on the road, and handle various terrains. I can also share photography tips for capturing great travel moments and offer guidance on content creation for social media. If you’re interested in chess, I’d be more than happy to teach you the basics or challenge you with more advanced strategies!
Learn: I’m a lifelong learner and always eager to pick up new skills and knowledge. Whether it’s learning about your culture, trying a new dish, picking up a local language, or understanding a different perspective on life, I’m always open to new experiences. If you’re an expert in something, I’d love to hear about it and learn from you!
Share: I can share countless travel stories from my expeditions across 32 countries and my solo Mumbai-London-Mumbai motorcycle ride. I’m also happy to share my experiences of exploring 29 Indian states by bike. Additionally, and of course, I’d love to play chess together if you’re up for a match!
