About Me
Always on the move, I have lived in China, Poland, and Malta before I was even a teenager. After finishing high school in the DC suburbs, I moved to Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, and Seattle. A few years ago, I was in Ukraine teaching English, before once again returning to the States.
I've temporarily given up "big city life" and now reside in the quiet and peaceful state of Maine. Portland is small enough to be less chaotic than Chicago or NYC, but still has more things to do than a small country town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Most of my CS experience was when I was still living in Chicago. I was lucky to have experienced CS during the glory days, when members respected the service and its ethos. As the years went on, I found it less fulfilling and eventually quit altogether after corporate takeover and a mandatory subscription fee was implemented. Me, as well as many of my friends (including ambassadors) left.
Recently, I've been curious about CS and have dropped in to see if anything has changed. I do miss the many connections I have made, and perhaps am simply nostalgic for the golden era of CS.
