Hello there, I'm Yuri, a Brazilian Architect who's ever more curious about the world and the different perspectives of those who live in it.

Other than that, the daily life can get a little bit boring, so from time to time I push myself into being in different places, solving different problems... It always gives me thrills and revigorate my spirit.

Over the years, I've been sometimes more and sometimes less active on the platform: I hosted whenever I could, participated in weekly meetings, surfed, met other travellers on the go and saw the pandemic strike the community, as it became paid. To be honest I thought it would be the end of CS, but I happily realized there are still some brave souls maintaining it alive, so I decided to do a comeback.

Currently, I left Brazil to pursue an old desire of mine, which is to study Geography. It so happens to be in southern Hungary, and my plan is to take advantage of being based there for a couple of years and explore a bit of what Europe has to offer.

I'd be lying if I said that I didn't start using Couchsurfing because of the possibility of staying for free at my destinations. Over time I understood the spirit of the community, which is to connect people on a deeper level than a hostel, for example, by sharing language, costumes, life experiences and perspectives -- all built over a foundation of trust and good faith.

Of course not all interactions here are life-changing experiences, but at least a good conversation you can expect from me.

I think I have a broad, but not so deep, range of interests, that's why more often than not I try to listen more than speak.

I'm not a very spiritually engaged person, but I'm happy to hear about your beliefs as long as it doesn't become an indoctrination session.

Not really incredible things, but curious things:

🚀 I've witnessed a space rocket blow up at launch;

🛳️ Travelled by boat upstream the Amazon and Madeira rivers for several days;

🃏 Earned 200 € in a casino blackjack table without even knowing the game's rules;

🎡 Watched Chinese New Year's fireworks from the top of the Singapore Flyer, totally by chance.

There are some people here that claim to have a outstanding set of skills, they're super smart, experienced, artsy, energetic, have great cooking skills etc... I'm none of that, or at least not at a level I can brag about.

I try my best to be pleasant, though.
