Iโm Zara, a full-time traveler and digital nomad from Iran ๐ฎ๐ท, living and working remotely since May 2018. I travel slowly, stay long in each place, and try to really get to know local life. Iโm not a tourist, and I often return to the same country more than once instead of rushing from place to place. I try to live mindfully, reduce waste wherever I can, and keep a regular yoga and meditation practice ๐งโโ๏ธ๐ฑ. PS: I have a gluten allergy, so please donโt be offended if I need to avoid gluten. PPS: I only accept friend requests from people Iโve met in person. PPPS: If youโre thinking of staying with me, please read the Home section as well ๐

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
For me, Couchsurfing is about connection and kindness. I love learning about both the differences and similarities between peopleโtheir stories, cultures, daily lives, and foodโand seeing the world through their eyes ๐๐ฌ๐ฒ. Another important reason is giving back. Iโve received so much warmth and hospitality during my travels, and whenever I can, Iโm happy to pass that on to others ๐๐ป.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
- Left my office job and chose a nomadic life (๐ข โ ๐๐บ๏ธ), learning to live with less and trust the road. - Stayed in Sri Lanka ๐ฑ๐ฐ for two years during Covid, turning an unexpected situation into a second home and a deeply grounding experience. - Volunteered in different countries, including teaching English to young monks and nuns in Myanmar ๐ฉโ๐ซ๐ง, working on a buffalo farm in Laos ๐, helping in a bakery in Cambodia ๐, and more.
What I Can Share With Hosts
- Travel stories and experiences, if you feel like hearing them ๐ - Cooking Iranian food or desserts ๐ - Making (and teaching) friendship bracelets, simple macramรฉ plant hangers, or more complex crochet patterns ๐งถ๐ - Curious conversations and probably a few never-ending questions ๐
