About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Understand people and the universe we live in

ABOUT ME

I'm originally from a beautiful mediaeval town in the north of Portugal called Guimarães. At the moment I live in Padova, Italy but my heart still belongs to Cape Town, South Africa. I'm a post-doc in Astrophysics here and I work in Cosmology - I can explain ;) In a nutshell, I'm a chilled guy that loves to travel and a good laugh. I'm also gay so I hope you are cool with it.

PHILOSOPHY

Another, better world is possible. A world where we live in a sustainable way with the environment and where we are all equal to eachother irrespective of gender, color of skin, sexual preference, religion, cultural background, disability, income or level of education.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a different and easy way to visit a place. It is also the best way to engage with local and not just tourists. It is the best way to meet people from a place when one is not from there.

For me a great opportunity to meet a plethora of types of people and learn from them. I used to host in my previous place in the UK and had great experiences as a host. I usually couchsurf over friends but did it a couple of times in couchsurfing.

Interests

I love to see places using the eyes of local people. I like art, music, theatre, cinema, street performer, sun, moon, hiking, diving, climbing and science. I love to chat about metaphysics as much as i like to do nothing. And a good political conversation. I love to learn about everything and i'm very curious.

When I live in Cape Town I used to go hiking/scrambling in the mountain.

I'm a big fan of world and arthouse cinema. This can keep us busy.
