Loves to hangout with foreigners and tell them everything about the culture, while walking them tiredly around every inch of the city. Then invite them to my favorite cafe shops and chill there.

On an academic side, I study English Literature as major and Gender Studies as minor in the American University of Sulaimani-Iraq. I write poems sometimes and have four poems published in our university yearly journal which I’m part of now.

I listen to music all the time, I believe I’m addicted by now, haha. So expect me introducing you to a lot of local music if you’re not from around.

And finally, I love learning about foreign cultures and especially their language. Since I’m a geek when it comes to linguistics, expect a lot of high pitch screams when I find something exciting in your native language, or something similar to my language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mostly to get to know new people. And also to collectively prove human beings can help and be with each other with no financial benefit. Be together for sake of learning and communication.

Interests

I’m interested in almost everything. I like to get new perspective on old issues for examples. So I love having long discussions and conversations about social, political and historical stuff. I’m definitely interested in hearing stories from my Couchsurfing friends on their adventures. And I’m really interested in making friends of course, I socialize a lot and just make friends everywhere I go, or I try at least. :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is probably the most important thing to me when it comes to art. I grew up on hip hop and rock & roll. Now, I try to experience all genres of music around the world. Blues, Jazz, Indie and Mongolian throat singing are my main interest now.

I run a movie club in my university. We gather once every two weeks and try to watch a movie that has an interesting social, philosophical, metaphorical, psychological approach to life. We try to get away from the redundant hero or blockbuster movies and focus on hidden gems in the world of cinema.

Not a great reader but I’m trying. I’m reading The Godfather now. And I have to admit that it was a life mistake not focusing on reading earlier in my life.

I can teach you a lot about the politics, geography, history, language, habits and the culture of my city and the region in general.

I am a geek when it comes to linguistics, I LOVE learning new languages and how are they structured.
