Oiiiii!!!!!!!!!

My name is Nastia. I am a smiling girl with lots of energy inside! I was born in Crimea, Ukraine — a beautiful peninsula surrounded by the Black Sea and mountains. Unfortunately, for the past 12 years it has been occupied by Russia, and in 2023 I had to leave my home due to political persecution related to my work. I cannot return there in the foreseeable future.

I am a journalist, and I write about social issues in Russia. I work with different independent media outlets in exile. I try to do my best to help bring closer the moment of Ukraine’s victory in the war.

I used to spend a lot of time volunteering. I organized events and trips for people with disabilities. I also care deeply about environmental issues and try to do what I can.

In 2022, I met my dog Molly on the streets of my hometown. She had been abandoned by her owners, so she has lived with me ever since, and now we explore the world together. I trained her, and now she is my service dog.

In Canada, I volunteer in thrift stores, and donate blood. I love hiking, rock climbing, mountaineering. Spending as much time in the mountains as I can.

Important info: now I host very rarely, as I live with my partner, who is not very involved in the Couchsurfing community.
