Bangalore is the capital of India’s booming IT industry, and with that comes all the perks of an economy on the rise: a diverse culinary scene, great shopping, and trendy locals looking to have a good time. With so many universities within Bangalore, it’s not uncommon to see students and young professionals having a chat in over a local craft beer.

For a bit of history in Bangalore, visit some of the many Hindu temples scattered about the city like Nageshvara or Malleswaram, with their intricate carvings and incredible detail. Also make a trip to the Tudor-style Bangalore Palace, a lavish palace complex that would look more at home in the English countryside than in India, but is remarkably well-designed and sure to impress. Visitors should also see the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, a beautiful park which houses a lake, a massive collection of tropical plants, and a famous glass house which hosts two annual flower shows.
