Guadalajara is a metropolis in the Mexican state of Jalisco, which is famous for its beautiful beaches, but Guadalajara’s inland geography doesn’t make it any less appealing. Many of Guadalajara’s main attractions are located outside the city itself. Take a trip to Guachimontontes, an archaeological site featuring circular stepped pyramids dating back to 300 B.C. If history isn’t your thing, catch a tour to the vibrant town of Tequila, the birthplace of Jalisco’s most famous drink. Here, you can tour the factories that produce and bottle tequila, then enjoy a mixed drink in the town’s central plaza.
