Known as the Mother City, Cape Town is a little piece of paradise sitting on what seems like the edge of the world. It sits at the feet of lush, green mountains and spreads to the edge of the South Atlantic’s brilliant blue waters, providing an even brighter splash of vivid color in between the two. Cape Town is a creative hub, and the fun-loving personality of the local people is apparent everywhere you turn.

The opportunities for adventure are what draw nature-lovers here from all over the world. Head down to the white sands of Clifton Beach or Sea Point for excellent surfing, paragliding, or even an afternoon on a whale-watching excursion. Or make your way to the top of Table Mountain by hiking, mountain biking, or the cable car for an incredible view of the city and the bay. Cape Point, the rugged ledge at the edge of the sea where the water crashes against the cliffs, gives the impression of being the very end (or beginning) of Africa.
