Hi y'all!
My bf and I are coming to visit from the 21st till the 28 of February. I'm trying to understand the map but can't figure the districts or best areas to rent an apartment for the duration of our stay! Anyone can help?
Also if you have awesome tips to give me, I take everything!

Thank you!

You should look for smth either in the city bowl or CBD, or the atlantic seaboard -meaning green point or sea point. I mean, that's if you want to be in town and close to anything. If you will have your own car and willing to stay in the suburbs, there are many other options

Thanks a lot ! I'll check this out :)

I will do an internship in Cape Town in June + July + August. Where and how is best to find a place to rent for 3 months?

And what is best part of Cape Town to live? :)

Depends on your budget. I do short term rentals at the Waterfront (Marina Estate). We have six apartments there.
Beautiful, being renovated as we speak, secure. Contact me

Do you know what area in Cape Town you'll be working? That might have an influence on where you choose to live.
The house I live in is a guest house which takes on some permanent and some short term people at really decent monthly rental rates - esp during the off season/Winter months. I've been there for almost two years now, and there have been a few students and others who have moved in to our place for between 1 and 6 months at a time.
We're out in Lakeside (near Muizenberg) which is a bit far out of the city, but there is easy train access if needed.
Let me know if you want the landlord's contact details.

Otherwise give Gumtree and OLX a look.

St Martini Gardens (Queen Victoria st) offers longterm rentals. Or my friend owns a flat in Roeland street for rental.

Hi Maria,

I am travelling at the moment but I will be back in Cape Town in mid October. My flat is in Sea Point and I have a spare room.

How long are you looking to rent the room?

Anri Lategan , Cape Town, ZAF, about 1 month ago

I live in Rosebank right by UCT's Lower Campus. My flatmate is moving out for the whole of October. How much are you willing to pay? Our rent is R4000 each excl electricity. Let me know if you are interested!

I stay in a nice area known as Table View (about 30 mins drive from town) but am not sure of availability yet since I will only be returning mid September. I also know of someone looking for a house mate during October in Parklands. It does not have to be for the full month if you don't want to stay that long.

Hi Andrea,
I would recommend "Once in Cape Town"backpackers. Very nice area on kloof street, lots of people hang around there and its very convenient to go around.

The Austrian and I are looking for exceptional and unusual beers over the coming says in Kaapstad. Where should we go to drink, and which beers do you recommend? Dankie!

Ferdinand Schenck , Berlin, DEU, 2 months ago

Hey, the Beerhouse on Long street is probably the best place in terms of variety. Lots of local and international beers to be had. For South African beers I would recommend the Van Hunks pumpkin ale, CBC amber weiss, Stellenbrau Rooibaard. You can also try the taproom in Salt River.

Also, anything by Birkenhead is good, if you ever head to Hermanus stop by Honingklip brewery which is on the way there.

Dankie Ferdinand, we are grateful for your recommendations! Tonight we are very lucky, our hosts in Gansbaai have home-brewed beer. :D
