About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn more about myself and others through travel : )

ABOUT ME

Where to start... I love to meet new people. Growing up I was a shy/timid girl, but through this studying abroad experience, I have uncovered a newfound spontaneity that I was not aware I had. I am always eager to meet new people and to learn as much as possible about other cultures. I feel like we have SO much to learn from this earth- and it would be a shame to limit yoursef by never exploring past your comfort zone in your hometown, or state.

I grew up with a French mother and a Persian father, which is probably why I have such a passion for cultures and languages. I love to paint in my spare time, and spend a good amount of my day listening to music. I play piano, love to go on long walks while simultaneously exploring Bordeaux, and will try anything once!!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that you only live once, so you need to make the most out of your life because who knows how long you have. I feel like the world wouldnt be as large as it is if we weren't meant to explore it and learn about it.

Different cultures may be very different, but at the base I've come to realize that we all want pretty much the same thing- to live, love, and be loved. I feel like every person we meet is a chance to learn somethin new, be it about them or yourself in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sadly my landlord told me I can't have people stay with me in my apartment, or else I would love to host people and be able to make their traveling experience that much better. However I am more than happy to show any newcomer around and treat them to a cup of coffee or drink/ introduce them to my friends!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just made this account, so I have yet to experienced all the great times people told me one can get through couch surfing. I hope I get this chance bientot!! :)

Interests

Music, art, photography psychology, playing piano, FOOD! Good movies (but then again, who actually wants to ever watch a bad one..?), Buggyboarding, running on the beach in Santa Barbara, painting. I also enjoy taking pictures and partaking in photoshoots with my friends. I also love dogs!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Tetro, the Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Diner des Cons, Love Actually, Austin Powers #1 and #3 (but not 2!), Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Rushmore, Les Martyrs, Jeux D'enfants

Music is HUGE for me.. if ever you find yourself in bordeaux and want to go to a concert, let me know!

Favorites include: The XX, Fritz/Paul Kalkbrenner, Vitalic, Crystal Castles, Nicolas Jaar, Klangkarrussel, Wax Tailor, Parov Stelar, MGMT, Foster the People, Thievery Corporation, Kings of Convenience, Angus and Julia Stone, Beats Antique, Yann Tiersen, Thao Nguyen & the Getdown Stepdown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to Iran with my father once when I was 8. Granted I was very young, but not too young to realize how differently women are treated over there compared to America, and it made me appreciate so much the rights and respect I had back home.
