Hi there, I'm Christen. I have a big passion for traveling and have lived, worked and traveled for a few years - but the bug still has got hold of me :)

I am usually employed as a Social Worker at a hospital however in my recreational time I like to play with my hula hoop (normal or my fire hula hoop), read books and or go exploring natural beauty. I also love alternative ways of living and street art...

Some random things about me:
- I am currently on a personal development journey focussing mainly on emotional and perspective modification...this is currently our purpose in life :)
- Libraries make me feel so peaceful and content ...
- Having long conversations with people about anything and everything (as long as everyone is respectful if they have a difference of opinion) is awesome
- I love to get lost on purpose in a city that I don't know cause that's when I find the most amazing things!!!
- I enjoy meeting new people and share experiences with them that make up life's rich blanket - one that you can wrap yourself in when you look back and go 'wow I did all of that'...and wonder where you got the courage at the time.
- I love to do things that take me out of my comfort zone to make sure that I don't miss out on anything and also just to challenge myself :)

You are always growing, learning and developing - so long as you continue to do this you are still alive. Otherwise, its time for you to die...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been hosted on numerous occasions and also hosted people when I was living in a community house in Amsterdam a few years ago.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a respectful house guest that won't take up too much of your time or try to impose myself on you to entertain me - unless you wanna hang out :) And I am not 'party people' and only occasionally party (when its called for and appropriate).

I love so many different things and am a weird combination between quite homely/domestic and partying/social.

Stuff I like includes:
- Reading
- Theoretical conversations
- Learning new things from others and the rapport it builds at the same time as developing yourself.
- Travelling everywhere

- Being in nature where I can feel the energy of the trees, water and grass and be centred. Even better when I can do it with a bunch of like-minded spirits.

Probably the best thing that I have done is trek up to Mt Everest Base Camp in Nepal...was absolutely stunning!!!

What can I teach you? I have helped quite a few of French and Spanish friends to practice their English regularly and been told that I am a good teacher!!! Other than that...hopefully will be able to teach you a few hula hoop tricks!!!
