About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meeting amazing people and places around the world

ABOUT ME

My name is Pau without L but normally the people from all the countries even Spanish speaking countries call me Paul so Pau or Paul whatever you prefer. In Brazil I don´t say my name as it means dick :( haha

I did a degree in biotechnology, during this time I had my first real experience abroad with the Erasmus program. I chose "the most different country" that I could go to, that year in Izmir (Turkey) changed my mind forever. I liked it so much that I couldn't finish my degree in my own country so I went to Buenos Aires for another exchange. Every day I was more and more interested in traveling, meeting new people, cultures, history, flavors... It was also the time where I did my first solo trip across South América. That time was over and I returned to Spain, but right after finishing my degree, I embarked on a summer adventure in Malta where I volunteered in a biological conservation NGO. After that I went to Brussels where I spent one year doing an internship.

Currently, I am working near my hometown on a project of rural development and nature protection.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The first time I heard the word Couchsurfing was during my first student exchange in Turkey in 2014. I have been host and surfer since that time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All my experiences have been great. I am very glad I found this website, as it allows you to experience the real meaning of traveling.

Interests

I like cooking and learn new recipes around the world
I love nature, I have spent most of my life in a small town surrounded by mountains, and walking through them is the best medicine. I like everything related to this, like watching the fauna, know things about the flora, picking up aromatic plants, recognize edible mushrooms, swimming in rivers, watching the starry sky and its immensity...
I started to play the guitar in sept. 2016.
I am currently studying French.
I love astronomy, I would like to buy a good telescope one day and spend some night in the darkness. I bought a shitty one but it didn't work.
I would like to learn more about photography

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have completed my studies in 4 countries and 3 continents

I forgot my passport in the same fucking middle of my bed when I had to take a plane.
I had to say to a Turkish bus driver without talking that he had to stop the bus or I would shit my pants after indigestion.
My first hitch-hiking experience was in an old tiny motorbike with two other people. I also remember one in the tanker of a truck full of dirty towels (there were hundreds) from hotels.
Watching the sunrise at the biggest salt flats, in Bolivia...
The first time I tried marihuana was in an omelet and I ended up in the hospital.
8.000 km solo trip in South America.
