ABOUT ME
Hi everybody!
Mi name is Clara and I'm 26 years old. I've have studied English and German Translation and Interpreting in the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. I love what I have studied and I'm uncertain about my future because I love translating, interpreting, dubbing films, literature, etc. So far I have worked for a year in a big international language services provider.
I'm a very friendly and cheerful person and I love learning languages and talking to other people. I like travelling and tasting food from around the world. I'm learning to mix tradicional recipes from different countries. We have recently moved with my boyfriend in Figueres.
You can read about Aleix in his profile: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2000646813
We always enjoyed couchsurfing experiences and we are very happy to start this adveture as hosts. Please take the time to read our profiles and thik if you are willing to get to know us. This is not a hotel, couchsurfing is about cultural exchanges.
PHILOSOPHY
"It is the time you have spent in your rose that make your rose so important"
This sentence is written in The Little Prince and I love this book. Every time I go to other countries I buy it and I collect them. I think it is very important to spend time with your friends, family, mates, etc. And we have to look after them.
James Joyce said that "Mistakes are the portails of discovery" and I really believe that it is true. Sometimes you take some projects that after some time can't continue or aren't as we had thought. I think we can always learn from mistakes and they give us a good opportunity to change in the future.
Finally, I love thinking that "only the curious have something to find". That's why I'm very curious and I like to disvover new people, countries, hobbies, books, films, dishes, etc.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I always wanted to try couchsurfing and in the trip I did for a year in Ireland and UK I started this amazing experience! Travelling gets more interesting when you get to know people who lives on the country :) We have recently moved with my boyfriend and we finally have the chance to offer a room for couchsurfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In November and December 2014 in Ireland we surfed three times: in Cork, in Tralee and in Belfast. It wa such a great experience and we had the chance to get to know many people, share meals, new traditional foods, have great chats, etc. Happy memories all of them! We've couchsurfed in the United Kingdom and we had really good experiences in Liverpool, Cork, Bristol and Newcastle and many other places in Scotland. Thank ou very much guys for hosting us! :)
I travelled to Croacia with some friends and we had amazing exeperiences discovering the country with our couchsurfers friends.
Finally, I lived some months in Germany and I couchsurfed in places as Salzburg, Heidelberg and Freiburg. It was the first time I was couchsurfing on my own and it was brilliant as well. So I think I have councurfed in many different modalities: alone, with my partner and with some friends.
Interests
I love travelling around the world and visiting as many things as possible. I had the chance to visit different countries in different experiences: living a week with a Turkish family in a school exchange, visit Mauthausen with survivors, travel fora year with my boyfried through Ireland and the UK volunteering i different places, etc.
I also like trekking into the nature and being in the mountains and in the countryside. Since I'm very young I've been enrolled in the Scouts Movement and I like spending time in nature and nature and I'm very happy when I can bring the kids to the mountain as my leaders used to do when I was younger. I've grown up into the Scouts and I enjoy the summercamps far away from rutine.
One of my passions is learning languages as I studied Translation and Interpreting I can speak Catalan, Spanish, English, French and German. When I visit other countries I like leraning new words languages. Some years ago I spent one month in Ukraine and when I arrive I didn't speak a word and little by little I learnt how to learn Ukranian and I could say some sentences.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite books is "The Little Prince" as I have said before. I also collect them in different languages.
I try to read in different languages and I enjoied a lot reading Monsieur Ibrahim et les fleurs du Coran. A French book by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt. It is a very small book with a beautiful story I recommend to everybody! You can also find the film.
I have a special passion for French movies as "Ensemble c'est tout", "l'Escafandre et le papillon", "Le faboleux destin d'Amélie Poulain".
Another film I like is "Cinema Paradiso" and it is Italian. I really recommend it to all of you. You will enjoy a lot.
