Wants to Meet Up

In Nov 2016, after several years in London, I dropped everything - left a business, my friends, and sold my beloved motorcycle - to go back to Tokyo for a job (I lived in Tokyo for 15 months in 2009/10). The job wasn't what I had hoped for. For a start it involved lodging for an indefinite period of time with a crazy old lady, without knowing when or how much I was going to be paid. So I got out of there pronto and went to stay with my big sister in Sydney for a while. In Feb 2016 I left Sydney for Manilla via Singapore.
I don't have a plan, or any possessions to speak of. I just have a few business ideas and that powerfully motivating sense of dread that comes with being in your thirties and broke. If you're reading this, then perhaps we will meet soon. I look forward to it!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To save money and meet good people, just like everyone else!
I can talk for hours about political philosophy and economics (but I only do so when I'm alone, or with genuinely interested company). And I love obscure music and films.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite composer is Ligeti and I regularly listen to Dhrupad. Don't worry if that means nothing to you.
My favourite film is Fanny and Alexander by Ingmar Bergman. It's 5 hours long but edge-of-seat gripping from start to finish.
I don't read a lot of fiction, but I read loads of blogs, mostly on economics. I'm really into cryptocurrency Austrian economics and stuff like that.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teach, Learn, Share
You're pronouncing 'pokemon' incorrectly. 'Poke' is a contraction of 'pocket', as in 'pocket monster'. There's nothing 'pokey' about it!
