Edmonton, AB, CAN → Mexico???

My friend Becca and I (and our ’91 dodge van, named Vic) are on the roadtrip of a lifetime! We left our cozy prairie homes and are headed south for warmer weathers, better surf (or any surf), and fish tacos. We’re skipping winter this year and pretty stoked about it!

We first headed to the west coast of Canada and are now on our way south, planning to take the 101 all the way to Mexico, baby! Maybe further … who knows? We’re hoping to get the most out of this roadtrip, discovering new places and making new friends along the way.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately, my couchsurfing experience is quite minimal. When I first joined 4ish years ago, I had coffee/drinks with a few people in Zürich as well as a couple in Geneva.
I was lucky enough to surf in Prague. My host and his roommates were most excellent and gave me a wonderful introduction the couchsurfing community. During the rest of that summer, I was too disorganized to surf again but was happy for the one opportunity.

My living situation over the last few years has been such that I only was able to host once – two lovely German women, who sold me on being a host in the future, when I’ve finally got a place of my own.

In fact, I hope to host surfers when I’m settled in Manzanillo, Mexico, in 6 weeks or so.
