I am a 30 year old married woman. I am an English Language Teacher in Illinois, USA. I love my job! I get to meet people from all over the world who speak lots of different languages. Now, I teach adults, but I used to teach English language in an elementary school. Before that I lived in South Korea and taught English to Korean elementary students. I love Korea! I am studying Spanish now. This summer I am traveling to Mexico to study Spanish and explore the beautiful country. I'm very laid back, even with my students.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have never couchsurfed before, but I have globe-trotting friends that have couch surfed all over the world. They had wonderful experiences couchsurfing. I am traveling to Mexico this summer, and I would love to stay with someone who knows the area. I'm happy to speak English if you'd like to practice, or I will try my best to speak Spanish. I make new friends easily. I'm very laid back and easy to get along with. I would love to stay with someone who wants to hang out and show me some of their favorite parts of the city.

Interests

I love to run, bicycle, swim, and go for walks. I've run two marathons and done a couple triathlons. I love hiking in mountains and forests. Someday I would love to hike to the base camp of Mount Everest (I'm not crazy enough to try to make it to the top!) I love to drink a cold beer after a long run.! I love to read. I love to try new foods and cook new foods. Last but not least, I love to travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music. I listen to pop, hip-hop, country, oldies, and rock and roll. Since I'm traveling to Mexico, I'm really into reggaeton right now. Some of my favorite books are: Outlander, The Clan of the Cave Bear, Harry Potter, The Name of the Wind, and The Time Travelers Wife

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a bicycling and camping trip all over the island of Tsushima, Japan. We stopped in the rural shops and restaurants along the way, always stopping to say konnichiwa to the friendly locals. It was one of the coolest things I've ever done!
