The Coen brothers movies are probably what I would say the kind of movies that I really enjoy ("O'Brothers where are thou?", "The big Lebowski"...), but I'm also quite fond of japanese animés ("Princess Mononoke", "Grave of the fireflies"...). Margot works in the cinema so she would have more to share about it haha
I love heroic fantasy books (Tolkien, Martin, Hobb) and scandinavian litterature (Paasilinna, Riel, Olafsdottir), though recently I've been reading more detective novels.
