There is just no better place to meet the locals and get a real feeling for a city/country. This is a great concept.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I took the subway in New-Delhi in rush-hour time. I lived to tell the tale. Also the Sunset in Wadi Rum desert, surrounded by wild house cats was pretty decent.
