About Me

Hi everyone! I’m Mehmet from Istanbul. I work as an international trade expert at a global company so my professional & social life keeps me connected to different parts of the world, especially Latin America and Europe. So far, I’ve visited over 30 countries — and each journey has deepened my curiosity about cultures, people, and how we all relate.

Beyond work, I have a strong interest in languages and history. I speak several languages and enjoy digging into the historical and cultural layers of the places I visit. I believe that understanding people goes hand in hand with understanding where they come from — their language, stories, and heritage.

Even though I usually don’t need a place to stay when I travel, I know how valuable it is to meet someone local who can offer insight, conversation, or simply a sense of familiarity. That’s why I use Couchsurfing — not just for logistics, but for meaningful exchange.

I’m open-minded, easy to talk to, and respectful of others’ space and time. If you’re someone who enjoys good conversations, cultural curiosity, and shared experiences, hit me up!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To connect with people from all over the world.
I believe that every person we meet — whether we share a deep interest or just a moment — leaves an impact. Getting to know different cultures, languages, and perspectives helps us grow. Sometimes the experience is inspiring, sometimes it’s challenging — but that’s part of life, and that’s how we evolve.

For me, Couchsurfing is not just about travel, it’s about connection and shared experiences that go beyond borders.
