To my mind, a destination city/town can be much better experienced and explored when having a local there who then shows and shares the best, most interesting information and places only locals might know. In other words - with the help of the local host it becomes possible to explore the city at a higher level. Not to mention the fact of meeting new people and even getting new friends in different places around the world which, of course, is more than awesome.
