About Me
Greetings from Hong Kong! I am Sharon, a 20-year-old medical student who is passionate about travelling around the world and exploring different cultures.
Always eager to know the world better and to make my lively hometown better-known to the world.
Aspired to make the world a better place.
Embrace cultural diversity.
I can travel with an empty stomach, aching legs and a backpack half my height, but i can't travel without books and music.
“My destination is no longer a place, rather a new way of seeing.” - In Search of Lost Time - Marcel Proust
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best travel memories are always about the people i met in the journey and I believe the most beautiful thing about travelling is the connection you make with people in spite of cultural differences and language barriers. When I just turned 19-year-old, I spent one month living with a local host family in Ukraine and realised the best way of travelling is to know the local way of living and to interact with locals. And I figure that's how "travellers" differ from "tourists".
This is my first time couchsurfing and it would mean the world to me if you are willing to share this couchsurfing experience with me even though I am a total beginner.
Interests
Travelling has been my biggest passion beside medicine and i think backpacking is always the most interesting way to do it.
I love reading books because I can always find truths in books.
I love music and I love how it speaks to people universally.
I love movies and I love how it reflects reality like no other things can.
Last but not least, I want to be a doctor to be the change I wanna be to the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I just turned 19-year-old, I spent the whole summer volunteering as a English teacher in Ukraine and backpacking in Eastern Europe. I do not speak any Russian or Ukrainian but I had the best times there.
When I just turned 20-year-old, I made it all the way to the Baltic countries from Hong Kong, on the Trans-Siberian Railway, without leaving the ground.
