Overview
About Me
I'll be visiting Amsterdam for a few days with my friend Jenny, we've been close friends, and adventurous types, since studying creative subjects at uni. We're excited to explore the city, have some fun, see the sites and hopefully meet new friends along the way!
We'd like to visit the traveller hotspots but really want to experience some hidden gems too, meeting the people who live there is a big part of exploring any destination, doing it with a bit of local knowledge has lead to a lot of fun and the most unforgettable of times. Making new friends, sharing stories, amazing food and tastes in music is always on my agenda, great experiences are even better when you have someone to remember it with!
Our interests include art, photography, design and architecture, trying new foods and having a sociable drink. Both are partial to occupying dance floors and spontaneous activities.
We'll appreciate anything you can offer offer, whether it's good company, friendly tips or a place to sleep for the night...if you can help with any of these we'd love to hear from you!
If you're wondering about Jenny, you can find her CS profile here (she's a truly wonderful human): https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/jenny-sinclair

Music, Movies, and Books
It's tricky to list the music I'm into as there's a lot... from funk and soul, to electronic, garage, rock, trap and hip hop, it's a big old mix and it keeps getting bigger.
I like to go out and have a dance to live music and great DJs, you'll find me in front of bands in bars, in festivals fields or at big electro and techno nights.
When it comes to films I'll go for psychological thrillers like Shutter Island and the Shining, classic horrors that have you on the edge of your seat or anything that makes me laugh (it can be as ridiculous as Anchorman, weird as the Wolf of Wall street or even an animation film)...basically something that gets a reaction. I'm a big fan of stylised stuff too ,think Wes Anderson's colourful stories, the creations of Baz Luhrmann and of course Tarantino.
I'm not a big reader but only because I never know which books to pick, once I've been given a recommendation I love to get stuck in, so please do hit me with suggestions!
Currently tending to a copy of Shantaram (by Gregory David Roberts, it's beautiful.)
Favourites might be one's I haven't discovered yet...
It's not on here but I thought I'd give sports a mention too, I've always been active and keen to try new things. Growing up as a figure skater started things off, I'd swim regularly and compete in athletics, I've joined netball and hockey teams, learned to trampoline, ride horses on occasion and cycle everywhere. Most recently I've discovered the fun in rollerskating and I hope to learn to surf in Bali next year.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Tombstoning from the pink rocks in Morocco's Paradise Valley...our insane guide took the most terrifying route to the furthest pools, it was worth it, incredible.
