About Me

Buongiorno! I'm Vera. I'm currently an exchange student in Barcelona studying translation and interpretation from Chinese to Spanish. After hearing so many good things about Italy from my friends Fede and Luca, this christmas I've decided to take the chance to take a trip through Italy dropping in 5 cities (Roma, Napoli, Firenze, Venezie, Milano).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since this time I'm traveling alone, I really like making friends during trips, and couchsurfing has been recommended by every single one of my friends who has used it, I decided to put myself up for a new experience with the authentic local people as well. I still remember one of my friends told me that couchsurfing has been so fantastic an experience that it motivated him to start accepting guests when he got back from his own journey. Just gotta try it.
Second of all, being a student I still haven't started to make solid money, so I would like to avoid fancy hotels to make my trips less costly.
Lastly I dont speak any Italian haha, needing a teacher and someone to show me around.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
Huge country music fan (Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, John Prine)
Also Jazz R&B Blues (Amy Winehouse, Tony Bennett, Van Morrison style)
Dont worry I also listen to Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and (my fav this year) the Weeknd etc.
Movies
Fan of Alejandro González Iñárritu, Quintin Tarantino and Alfred Hitchcock
Watched at least 10 times Friends and Vicky Christina Barcelona
Books
a lot of them in Chinese... just finished reading Rue des boutiques obscures, starting el Postporno Era Eso, a book I just bought at the CCCB sexuality and arquitecture exhibition.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I study the spanish language. At first I didn't like my major because I don't feel like I can accomplish much with it until I started doing volunteer work. I've been volunteer (mostly as interpreter) in several important events in China, from music festivals to international robot competitions. I am using my skill to help more people, that to me is pretty amazing : )

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Chinese, Spanish, Guitar.
Learn Italian for sure!
Share whatever you want to know!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Chinese snacks my father brought me and chinese food cooking (may not be goodlooking but def delicious)
If you have a guitar I can play a song for you : )
Electricity, gas, water bills and other costs
and a fabulous time!
