Hi everyone! I'm Èric, a 27-year-old guy who loves travelling around the world, meeting new people and living unforgettable experiences abroad.

I'm currently living on the move, with no stable place and lack of planning ahead, but originally I’m from a town 50 km away from Barcelona, in Catalonia (Spain), and I studied an International Relations degree, which has been useful for… making friends abroad? I have an extreme amount of energy, and I'm open-minded, friendly, funny (I try to) and ready to embark on an adventure anytime!

The idea is travelling to the 197 countries in the world, not sure when this is gonna happen but I’m at 58 right now!

Ever since I can remember, I've travelled with my family or my friends, but as I'm getting older my travel goals are becoming bigger (it’s been years and now I’d say I fully went completely crazy) and more centred on getting into local culture, so I found Couchsurfing to be the perfect place to get in touch with people who have the same passion about travelling as me, and of course to meet people in all different countries who wanna share their time with me wherever I go and show me the place where they live, their traditions...
Also, Couchsurfing has already given me amazing friends who I love so much, so I definitely love being part of this community!

My music style is very chaotic at this point, my playlist is a mix-max of songs from different countries. But at this moment, I am a big fan of The Weeknd, Tory Lanez, Frank Ocean or the Turkish rapper Çakal… and I listen to more indie bands like Tame Impala, The Neighbourhood or The Strokes. I also love some Catalan and Spanish bands.

About movies, I used to be pretty uncultured until very recently, when I decided to start watching big important movies “everybody should watch”. I could choose some like Fight Club, Parasite, Memento, Saltburn or Gladiator. I’m on the way to watch even more.

Maybe I read less books, as I focus more on political readings in general.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The most amazing thing I’d say I’ve done is surviving the last 2-3 years working, volunteering and travelling around without going fully broke (but I am always close to lol).

I’ve been volunteering in countries like Bosnia, Romania and soon Lebanon; worked in New Zealand, Norway and the UK; and travelled in several regions like Central Asia, South East Asia or almost all Europe. Also, it’s amazing I managed to make local good friends in most of the countries I’ve been!

I am an extremely intense person when it comes to teaching people about my ethnicity, the Catalans, a group split between mostly Spain and also France. Barcelona? Yeah, that’s our capital.

I love explaining our traditions, our history, and now recently I am on a quest to learn how to cool proper Catalan food! So if you want, I can try my best to cook something Catalan for you!

Also, I can teach you Catalan, and of course you can practise your Spanish with me, as it is also a language I speak perfectly. It’s all up to you.

I am also a big fan of learning languages, so I am always open to learn the basics of your language. And I definitely like talking about politics and learn about every single situation in your country.

Plus, I have been trying my luck in creating content, so I am always up to share my (terrible) knowledge and talk about it with anyone who’s into that!

If you come around my area, I can show you my town and surroundings and have amazing days together (I’m always looking for the best plan to do!)

As well, I love sharing long and deep conversations (specially around beer or another nice drink!) and in general sharing time together no matter who you are, how you think or whatever is the plan!
