About Me
hi there!
My name is Kathryn - I'm an architect with roots in California (San Francisco at the moment), but am on a summer-long cross-country adventure. My partner and I drove from SF to New York City together in June, and I am about to cast off on the road trip back to the west coast by myself.
I have spent the last four years working in the K-12 and entertainment sectors of architecture, and have a great passion for functional design and beauty.
I value personal connection over everything else in life - if we can get chatting about anything artistic, philosophical, cultural, or earth-centered I think my day will be made.
"The aim of life is to live, and to live means to be aware, joyously, drunkenly, serenely, divinely aware." –Henry Miller
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Here to make friends, see new places from the locals' perspective, and have interesting conversations.
I have experience with Couchsurfing from a year I spent living abroad in Italy in 2017-2018. I haven't had the chance to jump back into the community since (partially on me, partially on the global pandemic). I have missed the experiences I had and friendships I gained through those times I was hosted, and am hoping to meet some lovely locals and share stories on my otherwise pretty lonely drive back to California!
CS brings out the generosity and kindness that people have all over the world, and I find a lot of happiness and meaning in that. The experiences I've had so far here have given me so much hope for humanity's capacity for love. My life's goal is to spread this love as much as I can!
