About Me

Hello! I`m Wontae! Somehow my name on profile doesn`t change to English :(
I find myself as a sociable, curious person who`s eager to learn new things :)
I`ve met hundreds of people from different countries and cultures only within the last single year. This changed my whole life and made me get out of the old perspective I`d had. I always realize that the world is much bigger and more interesting than I thought, and the thing that mind-blows me is that the more my abilities, expeirences or even a small chat I share, the more things I get by just sharing it.
So, If I had to express myself with a single word, I would choose 'Passionate`.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best trip one could ever have is meeting local people and seeing the place with their pair of glasses, the local perspective. They`re born with this local perspective. Having these local experts is something one can`t buy. This is not something that we can deal with money, this is something we can only find through friendship, the common things in our minds. Yes, I`m looking for these unique things which is not able to be found easily, but once it`s done, then gives us best memories and friendship.

Interests

  • international relations
  • standup comedy
  • hanging out
  • ted talks

Music, Movies, and Books

Depends on my mood and the day.
I go on Youtube and listen to lofi hip hop music when I study.
I listen to Jazz when I cook, but always end up with funky pop music cause Cleaning dishes are bit annoying all the time :P
When I go clubbing, I like to go to deep, dope techno clubs.

I don`t usually read books except when I study. I think this is one of the minor problems the younger generations have :) Well, I`ve read every single series and episodes of Harry porter when I was younger, though...
But I do watch Teds lectures, which is the most precious thing we could find in the wide, vast ocean of information. I once watched John McWhorter`s to get some skills to give a presentation. He literally enlightened me. The way he talks, he controls the audience and the words he use was so impressive. As long as I found this new intriguing materials, I flew over Youtube to find another talented intellectual like Jordan Peterson, Trevor Noah! (I think his stand-up show is not only just a comedy show but more of something that gives us a chance to look back what`ve been, think it again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The turning point where changed my life was when I feel bored being complacent and decided to experience much more things. While looking for the places I`ll stay and preparing it in South Korea, I`d already met lots of international people and gotten myself being more used to the difference. I learned how to embrace this difference and also found out that even if there`s a difference, there should be some common sense that makes us united. Yes, the answer would be this decision I`ve made to be more passionate learning the broader world.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I`ve gotten some Asian recipes, I`ll be glad to share this!
Everything in Germany was perfect, but If I really had to pick up one thing that made me homesick, It would be the food :( So I started getting some simple and nice recipes on Youtube :)

I can also share the my thought and experiences if I can afford these with my English :)
You know, if you feel bored, sometimes meeting people who could be different from you could be one of the solutions :)
