Hi! I'm Ileen, I'm 26, and have studied cultural anthropology in Amsterdam where I was living until recently. I'm Dutch but was born and partly raised in Uganda, Kampala

I'm a calm, open-minded, thoughtful, attentive person, and always looking to broaden my skills, knowledge and awareness. Right now I'm especially trying to improve my Spanish. I love meeting new people, sharing deeper conversations, and one of my biggest interests is culture: our different ways of living in and with the world, the universe, and each other. I'm happiest when I'm outdoors in tranquility in nature and enjoy good food, cooking or baking, listening to instrumental music, dancing, painting, reading, doing boxing or yoga, swimming, hiking, sailing, being with animals, camping, sharing stories, living in the moment.

Through the years, I've met many incredible people through traveling, couchsurfing, hitchhiking and volunteering in different settings. I did farm-work and helped out at small-scale eco vineyards in New Zealand and contributed to social projects in Indonesia, Malaysia, Uganda, Greece, Bolivia, Panama and Colombia. I fell in love with the enthusiasm and sincerity shared between people I've met this way from all over the world - finding the beauty of cultures and people in this sort of opportunities.
