About Me

Hey what's up? I'm Rami and I'm originally from Morocco.

I enjoy hosting folks from around the world and I deeply value cultural exchange. I am kind-hearted, open-minded, and I really enjoy intellectual discussions.
I love volunteering and giving back to the community and I do that with three organizations so far:

- The Human Library:
The Human Library challenges stereotypes and prejudices through dialogue. It is a safe place where people are books on loan to readers for a chat. The goal is to address people's prejudices by helping them to talk to those they would not normally meet. Our books have many titles such as: transgender, domestic violence survivor, rape victim, HIV+, refugee, alcoholic...

- The Immigrant Welcome Center:
At the center we mobilize all resources available in the area to new comers and put them in the right directions regarding what they need help with: English courses, lawyers, health care, domestic violence, citizenship test...

- Indiana Diapers Bank:
We receive donations from big companies then we distribute diapers to families in need.

My philosophy of life is living up to:

having an open mind, and thinking for oneself
live authentically
love unconditionally
find and question our deepest assumptions
wonder, imagine, and dream...
become self-aware
keep asking why
really listen to people
wisdom is greater than technology
cooperation is greater than competition
overcome fear... take risks... make mistakes... and keep learning :)

Indianapolis is not the hottest destination, but if you ever were to visit the city, I'd be more than happy to host you 😊.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mine told me about it and I really loved the idea since meeting new people and getting to know them is something I'm always excited about.
I believe Couchsurfing offers the best means to get to know locals where I am traveling or hosting in my city and share something that isn't necessarily "touristy".
