Hey there! My name is Fortunato (you may call me Loca, as my friends do) and I’m from Buenos Aires. I’m a lawyer and I’m currently living in Messina while on the process of acquiring the Italian citizenship. I left my family and friends at home more than two years and I’m relying on this beautiful community to make some new ones while traveling. My main sources of happiness: to study, be it from the books or, preferably, through empirical means; to appreciate the diverse forms of expression that arts can have, from classical to postmodern styles; to birdwatch and spend time in nature; to move forward in the understanding of humankind through journeys and cultural exchanges; and, the key of it all: to share these activities with my beloved ones.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I have met with most wonderful people here, and made friends for life. CS just takes traveling to another level.
Music, Movies, and Books
Books: “Don Quixote” by Cervantes Saavedra; “One hundred years of solitude” and “Love in the time of cholera” by García Marquez. Reading the short stories of Edgard Allan Poe was a beautiful trip, too, specially his surrealist and oneiric ones. Movies: “Cinema Paradiso” by Giuseppe Tornatore; “Schindler’s List” by Steven Spielberg and “Grave of the fireflies” by Studio Ghibli are my top 3 by now. Music: Jazz and its fusions with other genres (Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock etc) I also listen to progressive rock, with artists like Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes or Soft Machine being my favorites. And, yes, I love tango! But I don’t dance it (yet).
One Amazing Thing I've Done
The 130km “O” trekking circuit in Torres del Paine National Park, Chile. Superlative.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can always help people interested in learning Spanish to improve their language skills. I’m also looking forward to practice my english and shape it to its best.
What I Can Share With Hosts
Knowledge! And a tasty Italian risotto, if we get the ingredients.
My Interests
As I mentioned, I like to spend time enjoying the arts, particularly music, literature and architecture; although I’m open to all of them. I’m really eager on urbanism too, and on urban life itself. I consider myself a flaneur, an individual who randomly walks the city and lets himself be surprised by the little details and scenarios that appear throughout. Last but not least, I would like to mention that I’m very enthusiastic on widening my cosmovision by interacting personally and directly with others, specially if we come from different backgrounds.
