About Me

50% Dutch, 50% German, but beyond passports I do not identify with it too much xD

Lived in: Germany | Netherlands | South Africa | UK | Bulgaria

Aside from the languages listed in the overview, which I either know quite well, or I am actively learning, I also have some knowledge about: Bulgarian | Russian | Spanish | Portuguese | Italian

Always happy to practice any of those :)

Fun fact: Even though Dutch and German are both my native languages I have a foreign accent in both of them. I mix them up and simply lived abroad for too long. There is no language that I can speak without an accent xD

Skills I am working on/things I like to learn about:
- Digital Painting
- Audio Production/Editing
- Language Learning

Some other facts about me:

I love animals, all from dogs to spiders, but unfortunately am super allergic to many of them :/

Aside from pet allergies I also have a lot of food allergies, so I would like to apologise in advance in case you offer me something I cannot eat, it is not to criticise your cooking. However if you like to eat a home-cooked meal together I can buy groceries and cook for us both :)

I am quite active on the InterNations app, I found that many Couchsurfers are using that app as well, I am currently a community consul and organised a number of events. InterNations events are supposed to be exclusive, but nobody cares about those rules, I always invite my CS friends to come along ;)

I have been on Couchsurfing since 2014, but deleted my old account during the pandemic (I know not the smartest move :/ ). So I have some experience using the app and hosting/hanging out with other Couchsurfers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My primary use so far has been for events and hangouts, I am moving around a lot so it is difficult to offer one specific location for hosting, and as a result I feel a bit guilty to ask people to host me. I might ask if I think we share things in common and we could otherwise also just hangout :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Organising board game events for the CS community, some of which had an attendance of 20+ people :)

- I know the rules of a lot of board games (if available) xD

What I Can Share with Hosts

- I always clean up after myself, but can assist with other chores in the house.
- If there is an opportunity to stay longer I can contribute towards rent and bills, I never stay with the intention of being a freeloader.
- Hosting them back :)
