Hello there! My name is Matthew. I am 26 years old from New York. I have been solo traveling for 4 months now. This is my first solo trip, or big trip in general. I was in Europe for a few months and will be in Turkey until the middle or December. I am slowly falling in love with this country. The Cay, the landscapes, and especially the people. For a few days now I have been hitchhiking the southern coast meeting locals everyday and absolutely love it!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I made this account to get more in touch with locals. I have had fun traveling, but after while staying in hostels and hotels, I feel I am not immersing myself in the places I visit in a very authentic way. I want to meet the people who live here, spend some time with them and get to know them, and learn about the culture a bit. When you travel in hostels and other places you get to meet other travelers, but not people of the country. And before I leave this wonderful country I would love to have more experiences with those who live here.

I love music, talking about the world and philosophy and spiritually. I enjoy and value human connection, getting to know people, sharing ideas and stories, and just laughing.
