About Me

Hi! I’m Mehdi, a traveler and fire performer from Morocco, passionate about creating and sharing meaningful moments. I specialize in flow arts and fire shows, working with props like poi, staff, dragon staff, buugeng, and more. I love combining movement, rhythm, and creativity to tell stories through performance.
I’ve traveled across all regions of Morocco and beyond, and every journey teaches me something new. For me, traveling is not just about places, but about people and the shared moments that make each place special. I believe in cultural exchange, open-mindedness, and mutual respect. I enjoy learning from locals, exchanging stories, and diving deep into authentic experiences.
As a guest, I always like to give back — whether it’s by cooking (I’d love to share Moroccan dishes or make tea), helping around, or even giving a small private fire performance if the space allows! I’m easy-going, tidy, and happy to adapt to your rhythm.
I enjoy deep conversations, spontaneous adventures, and even just relaxing over good food and good company. Looking forward to connecting with new friends around the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best part of traveling is connecting with people. For me, it’s not just about visiting places, but about sharing stories, experiences, and learning from locals. Couchsurfing feels like a way to build real friendships and create authentic memories, instead of just passing through as a tourist.
I love cultural exchange and hearing different perspectives on life. Whether it’s sharing a meal, discovering hidden spots together, or just talking about dreams and ideas, Couchsurfing gives me the chance to experience places in a deeper and more human way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music with rhythm and soul! I enjoy world music, tribal beats, and anything with a deep groove. I also listen to traditional Moroccan music (gnawa, chaabi), fusion, ambient sounds, and sometimes a bit of psychedelic or electronic for flow sessions. Drumming and live percussion also inspire me a lot, especially when performing.
I enjoy books about travel, personal growth, and philosophy. Some favorites are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, and books about mindfulness or flow states. I’m also drawn to stories that explore cultures and human connection.
I like movies that make you think or feel something deep — like Into the Wild, Baraka, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, or Samsara. I also enjoy documentaries about nature, travel, or art, and sometimes light comedies or indie films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done was performing a fire show on top of a mountain after a long hike. We carried all the gear up, and when we lit the flames with the city lights far below us, it felt like blending with the stars. The energy of nature and the adrenaline of performing created a powerful, unforgettable moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some flow arts like poi, staff, or other fire props (without the fire if you prefer!). I’d also love to show you Moroccan tea-making, some Moroccan dishes, and share insights about Moroccan culture, traditions, and hidden travel spots around the country.
I’m always curious to learn new skills, whether it’s about local customs, languages, or creative arts. I’m open to learning about music, dance, cooking, or any unique crafts you enjoy.
I love sharing stories, good energy, and laughter. I’m happy to share my travel experiences, cultural knowledge, and even perform a small flow or fire show if the situation allows. I’m also into collaborating on creative projects or simply sharing a chill conversation over food or tea.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer my positive energy, respect, and good company. I’m always happy to share Moroccan culture, cook a traditional dish, or prepare authentic Moroccan tea. I can also share travel tips, especially if you’re interested in Morocco or flow arts.
If you’re curious, I’d love to teach you some flow techniques (poi, staff, etc.) or even give a little fire show if it’s safe and possible! I’m also happy to help out around the house, join you on small adventures, or just chill and share stories and laughs. I try to always bring something valuable to every place and person I meet.
